Product description
Built in 1811 in Glasgow by Daniel Macfarlane, the Port Dundas Distillery initially produced malt whisky.
The distillation columns were installed in 1845 and soon Port Dundas, equipped with 5 stills and 3 columns, aspired to be the largest Scottish distillery. In 1877, the plant became part of DCL and for many years supplied grain distillate to all the company's major blends, Johnnie Walker, Haig's and Black & White. Despite a major modernization completed in the 1970s, Port Dundas was unable to face the challenges of the new century and ceased operation in 2010. The Port Dundas 2006 presented here is a proposal of the Signatory Vintage company in the Single Grain Collection series. The whisky spent over 15 years in oak barrels and was bottled at 43% abv in August 2022.
