Product description
Signatory Vintage, founded in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington, is a leading independent publisher and distributor of whisky.
Few remember that Symington started with just £100,000 and nearly went bankrupt several times in the first five years of operation. The name "Signatory" means Signatory and originally Symington intended to hire someone famous to sign each edition on the label. The first cask of whisky in the Signatory range was Glenlivet 1968, but before the company found the right signatory, there was no trace of the whisky. The Jura presented here, distilled on 10 April 1992, spent 28 years in bourbon cask no. 2491. Bottled in the Cask Strength Collection series at 52.4% abv on 28 August 2021 in an edition limited to 135 bottles.
Aroma : barley malt, walnuts, toffee, vanilla, chocolate bar, green apples, gooseberries, coconut flakes, notes of damp hay and oak.
Palate : breakfast cereals, vanilla, milk fudge, honey, coconut, candied nuts, apples, pears, mirabelle jam, licorice, white pepper and oak.
Finish : quite long, with notes of stewed apples, lemon peel, vanilla, white pepper, lemongrass and oak.
