Product description
Based in Orkney, Highland Park is Scotland's most northerly distillery.
Although the factory, officially founded by David Robertson, has been operating since 1798, local businessman and smuggler Magnus Eunson had previously illegally produced whisky on the premises. For many, Highland Park is considered synonymous with quality, and its current fame is the result of a large investment by Highland Distillers, the then owners, in marketing the brand in 1979 and the debut of the 12-year-old version. However, the prelude to its success was the now somewhat forgotten 8-year-old edition, available in the 1960s (remember that at that time the share of single malts in the turnover on the whisky market was less than 1%). In our opinion, the bottle presented here comes from the 1970s and contains whisky bottled at 40% abv.
