Product description
In Old Norse, Jura means "deer island" and to this day there are 20 deer for every two hundred inhabitants of the island.
The Jura Distillery, built in 1810, struggled throughout the 19th century, and from 1901 to 1960 its buildings were empty. The last decade has seen unprecedented success for the local whisky, with sales increasing by over 500% over the past decade and now exceeding 2 million bottles. The Jura presented here, distilled in October 2007, spent over 14 years in a refilled hogshead cask no. DL 19605. Bottled at 50% abv and without chill filtration by Hunter Laing & Co. in their popular Old Malt Cask series in August 2022 in an edition of 304 bottles.
