Product description
Built in Wick in 1826 by James Henderson, Pulteney Distillery is one of a handful of distilleries to bear the name of a specific person.
Sir William Pulteney was chairman of the British Fisheries Board and also the initiator of the expansion of Wick, which made the town a model fishing port. Since 1995, the plant has been owned by Inver House Distillers and, equipped with one pair of stills, can produce 1.8 million litres of distillate per year. Recent years have brought a number of interesting editions that have introduced the brand to the top twenty most popular single malts. The one presented here uses barrels from bourbon and Pineau des Charentes, a fortified wine produced from lightly fermented grape juice and cognac. This whisky debuted in 2022.
