Product description
Aberlour Distillery is based in the village it shares its name with, which lies at the confluence of the Lour and Spey rivers. The name of the village (and distillery) translates from the Gaelic to "mouth of the whispering brook", although the full name of the settlement is Charleston of Aberlour.
The first distillery in the village operated between 1825 and 1833, and the current one was built in 1879 by James Fleming. Since 1974, it has been owned by Pernod Ricard and, equipped with two pairs of stills, produces 3.8 million liters of distillate per year. Aberlour 10 years old, one of the key versions of this whisky, is a blend of distillates aged in bourbon barrels (70%) and sherry barrels (30%). The Forest Reserve version presented here debuted in 2019 and was finished in French oak barrels.
