Product description
The Port Charlotte Distillery was built in 1829 by Colin Campbell and the settlement of Port Charlotte by the Viceroy of Islay, Walter Frederick Campbell, to provide accommodation for the distillery workers.
The distillery closed in 1929, but Port Charlotte whisky returned to the market in 2006 as part of the offering from the nearby Bruichladdich Distillery. The 10-year-old edition presented here debuted in June 2018 as an addition to the core offering. The whisky was distilled from 100% barley grown in Inverness-shire and malted to 40ppm phenol content. It was matured in first-fill (65%) and refill (10%) American oak barrels and ex-Bordeaux (25%) casks. Port Charlotte is bottled with its natural colour and without chill filtration at 50% ABV.

Taste: slightly oily, fruity and smoky, oranges, mango, honeydew melon, vanilla, honeydew, coconut flakes, smoked oysters, a pinch of pepper and salt.
Finish: long, with notes of tropical fruits, vanilla, white pepper and peat smoke.
