Product description
Nomad Outland Whisky debuted in 2014 and represents a new generation of Scottish blends.
It is the creation of Whyte & Mackay blender Richard Paterson and Louis Miguel Trillo and Antonio Flores, responsible for the production of González Byass sherry. The Nomad formula contains 25 malts and 6 grain whiskies. In the case of the Reserve version, the whisky is aged in Scotland for six years, after which it is sent to Jerez in Spain. There, it spends the first two years in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels and the next two in Oloroso sherry barrels. Since the maturation of the whisky takes place partly outside Scotland, it cannot bear the designation "Scotch whisky", hence the designation "Outland" (i.e. another territory).
Nose: sherry, barley malt, raisins and sultanas, dried figs and dates, cherries, honey, toffee, mocha, roasted nuts, notes of vanilla and oak.
Palate: smooth, sherry-soaked raisins, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, plums, cherries, crème brûlée, hazelnuts, nutmeg and cloves.
Finish : medium long, with notes of sherry, honey, dried apricots and figs, nuts, a touch of pepper and nutmeg.
