Product description
The Brackla Distillery, based in Cawdor, was built by Captain William Fraser in 1812.
William IV must have really liked the local whisky, since he ordered it for his court in 1835 and allowed Fraser to use the prefix "Royal". Andrew Usher, the creator of the first commercial blended whisky (Usher's Green Stripe), also shared the monarch's taste; one of the key ingredients of the original formula was Royal Brackla. The plant currently belongs to Bacardi Ltd and produces 4 million liters of distillate per year. Royal Brackla 15 years old is a proposal of Stalla Dhu Whiskies (the company was founded by Ron Morrison and Mitchell Orchant, and its name means "Black Cliff") from 2021. The whisky was aged in a hogshead barrel (no. Z06/310888) and bottled at 48%. The edition consisted of 310 bottles.
