Product description
Glen Scotia Distillery, an investment by James Stewart and John Galbraith, was established in 1832. Originally called Scotia, the word "Glen" appeared in the name in 1933, after the distillery, which had been idle for several years, was purchased by Bloch Brothers.
After several changes of ownership and subsequent production breaks, Glen Scotia has been distilling continuously since 1999. The plant is equipped with a single pair of stills and currently produces around 500,000 litres of distillate per year, using 60% of its potential. The Glen Scotia 46 years old presented here is the distillery's oldest offering. The whisky spent 36 years in refill bourbon barrels, then went to a fresh bourbon barrel for another 6 years, and finally spent the final 4 years in an Oloroso sherry hogshead. The spirit was bottled at cask strength and without lime filtration, and the edition consisted of 150 bottles. (Official tasting note.)

Taste : velvety mild, layers of melted brown sugar and golden caramel, baked apples, stewed pears in vanilla syrup and the subtle sweetness of orange.
