Product description
The Barbancourt brand dates back to 1862, when Dupré Barbancourt finished the work on his flagship rum that has borne his name ever since.
The original Barbancourt distillery was located in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. The company’s capacity was rather limited, so a new factory was erected amongst plantations of sugar cane in 1952. That investment allowed the brand to make its first appearance on international markets. Today the rums from La Société du Rhum Barbancourt, one of the oldest rum manufacturers in Haiti, are sold in 20 countries of the world, and the company employs 250 people.
Barbancourt 15 is a rum made from fresh sugar cane juice and is matured for 15 years in virgin oak barrels made from French Limousin oak. It is bottled each year in limited quantities. Once it was reserved for the members of the Barbancourt family, but has been distributed freely since the 1960s.
