Product description
Wm Cadenhead Ltd. is Scotland's oldest independent whisky bottler.
The company was founded in 1842 in Aberdeen by George Duncan, his brother-in-law, William Cadenhead (a poet, by the way) joined the company in 1858, and after Duncan's death he christened it with his own name. In 1972 Wm Cadenhead Ltd. was purchased at auction by Springbank's owner, J. & A. Mitchell & Co., who moved its headquarters to Campbeltown. In addition to a wide range of Scotch whiskies, Wm Cadenhead Ltd. also offers rums, gins and bourbons. The Macallan-Glenlivet presented here, distilled in April 1976, after 22 years of maturation, was bottled at cask strength (55.9% abv) in September 1998 in Cadenhead's Authentic Collection in an edition of 600 bottles.
