Product description
The Presidente rum series is another proposition from Oliver & Oliver, whose roots date back to the 19th century, when a certain Oliver Juanillo founded a sugar cane and tobacco plantation in Cuba.
Shortly afterwards, a rum distillery was also launched, which operated until 1959, i.e. until the end of the Cuban Revolution. The founders of the Oliver & Oliver distillery, as the distillery was called, were forced to emigrate. Eventually, they settled in the Dominican Republic, where they found excellent conditions to continue their distilling business. The new Oliver & Oliver distillery produces a wide range of rums, using traditional copper stills and pure sugar cane syrup. The Presidente series, like the earlier Presidente Marti, is a tribute to the Cuban freedom fighter, Jose Julian Marti Perez, a 19th-century hero of the fight for independence, whose portrait appears on the label.
Presidente Rhum Vieux is a Dominican rum made in the old Cuban style. It is made with molasses, distilled in a column still and matured in American and French oak barrels using the solera system.
