Product description
Distillerie Grallet Dupic is located in the village of Rozelieures in Lorraine. The Grallet Dupic family has been growing cereals and mirabelle plums for five generations, from which they distill eau-de-vie.
Production began in 2003, with the first single malt debuting four years later. Distilled from locally grown barley (most of which is from its own fields) malted on site, the company describes itself as the only distillery in France to produce whisky from “peated malt” (the peat is extracted about 5km from the farm). The whisky is matured in French, American and Spanish oak barrels. The whisky presented here, distilled in 2012, was finished for 14 months in an HSE rum barrel (Habitation St. Etienne, Martinique) after a basic maturation, and the edition consisted of 384 bottles.
