In late 2018, Whyte & Mackay announced the launch of a new Fettercairn Distillery offering.
Almost all of Fettercairn's production goes into Whyte & Mackay blends, while the company's marketing is focused on Dalmore and Jura single malts. Fettercairn Warehouse 2 joined the range in 2020 and was met with a warm reception. "Warehouse 2" houses the distillery's finest barrels. Fettercairn Warehouse 2, Batch # 002 hit the market in 2021 and contained whisky distilled in 2009, aged in 29 bourbon and rye barrels (American oak), both first fill. The whisky was bottled at 48.5% abv, and the edition consisted of 6,000 bottles.
Aroma : fruity, pineapples, mangoes, bananas, ripe apples, lemon jam, honey, vanilla, pralines, cinnamon and a handful of fresh herbs.
Palate: fruity-sweet, pineapple, lychee, papaya, candied orange peel, honey cereal, vanilla, golden syrup, cinnamon, fennel and oak.
Finish : quite long, with notes of tropical fruits, vanilla, maple syrup, candied ginger, cinnamon and oak.
