Product description
Springbank began operations in 1828 and was the fourteenth distillery in the Campbeltown region, which was known as the world capital of whisky in the 19th century (at the peak of its popularity, there were 34 distilleries operating there).
Springbank is one of the most unique Scottish distilleries, the only one operating since the first half of the 19th century, which remains the property of the founding family to this day and the only one that distills exclusively from barley malted by itself. The plant produces 3 single malts with different profiles: traditional Springbank, smoky-peated Longrow and delicate, triple-distilled Hazelburn, and the entire process, from malting to bottling, takes place under one roof. Since time immemorial, Springbank editions have been sought after by connoisseurs and collectors of whisky, presented here, part of the Private Bottling collection, is undoubtedly the decoration of each collection. The whisky distilled on March 30, 1968, spent 35 years in barrel no. 484 and on November 25, 2003 was bottled in the cask strength version (49.1% abv) and without cold filtration into 213 bottles. This extraordinary drink, a representative of the "old school", offers fruity sweetness combined with salty sea air and a distant note of peat smoke.
