Product description
The term “Singleton” was used in the early 20th century by whisky brokers to refer to a single malt cask of exceptional quality, the only one in their stock.
In 1986, the forgotten term was used to debut the single malt Auchroisk, and 20 years later, it spread around the world thanks to Diageo’s marketing department and the release of three “Singletons” for three continents – Dufftown in Europe, Glen Ord in Asia and Glendullan in America. These whiskies are a great introduction to the world of single malts. Glendullan Distillery is based in Speyside and, equipped with three pairs of stills, produces around 5 million litres of alcohol a year, the lion’s share of which goes into the company’s blends. The basic, 12-year-old version of the Singleton of Glendullan, in its latest incarnation called “Lucious Nectar”, is made from distillates aged in American oak barrels, with a small addition of European oak barrels.
