Signatory Vintage Whisky Co., founded in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington, is today a leading independent publisher and distributor of whisky, respected by consumers.
Signatory has a tradition, highly valued by whisky lovers, of labeling each cask strength edition with information about the type and number of the cask, the date it was filled and bottled, and the number of bottles to which the release is limited. The Bunnahabhain presented here is the company's proposal in the prestigious Cask Strength Collection series, a whisky distilled on May 28, 2012, aged for almost a decade in a first-fill sherry butt cask (no. 900798) and bottled at 64.7% abv without chill filtration on January 14, 2022 in an edition of 624 bottles.
Nose : slightly alcoholic, barley malt, raisins, plums, hazelnuts, caramel, cocoa powder, cinnamon buns and sherry-soaked oak.
Palate : sherry, caramel, maple syrup, chocolate biscuits, roasted almonds, prunes, raisins, candied ginger, cloves and a little oak.
Finish : quite long, with notes of raisins, chocolate, coffee, caramel, dark berries, a pinch of salt and pepper.
