Product description
Amand de Brignac champagne, commonly known as the "Ace of Spades" due to its logo, debuted in 2006.
Its creator is the Cattier family from Montagne de Reims, whose history dates back to 1763. The Cattiers own 33 hectares of their own vineyards located on the best plots of land in the region. The company produces over a million bottles of champagne annually, mainly based on licensing agreements, Armand de Brignac champagne only accounts for 10% of that. The de Brignac brand was registered in the early 1950s. Its creator was Nelly Cattier, who was greatly impressed by the hero of a novel she had just read, whose surname was de Brignac. The brand remained inactive for decades, first appearing on the market in the 21st century, after adding the name Armand. In November 2014, Jay-Z, an American rapper and music producer, became its owner. The parties did not disclose the details of the contract, nor do we know whether the Cattiers retained some of the shares.
Armand de Brignac Rosé joined the offer in 2008. It is a blend of three vintages and three varieties, usually combined in the proportions of Pinot Noir (50%), Pinot Meunier (40%) and Chardonnay (10%). 15% of traditional Pinot Noir produced from grapes from old vineyards is added to the finished blend. The wines are aged in the deepest parts of the cellars (119 degrees underground) on the yeast lees for three years, then subjected to the "dégorgement" process (removing the sediment from the sparkling wine) for another six months. Ace of Spades Rosé is a champagne with an intensely fruity palette (strawberries, cherries and red currants) complemented by delicate almond and floral notes. Ready to drink now, with the potential to age until 2023. It goes perfectly with veal with truffles and duck confit.
