Product description
Edradour, which markets itself as Scotland’s little gem, is one of the most picturesque Scottish distilleries.
The last change in ownership took place in 2002, when Signatory Vintage, an Independent Bottling Company owned by Andrew Symington took over the operations. The product range expanded immediately making that small and old-fashioned distillery one of the most innovative whisky producers. Here we have Edradour distilled on October 15, 2003, aged in oak barrels and finished in first fill sherry butt # 926. The whisky was bottled at natural strength of 56.6% abv on August 25, 2021 for La Maison du Whisky with an outrun of 674 bottles. A year before LMDW celebrated its 65th Anniversary.
Nose: quite powerful, dark chocolate, candied orange peel, dried dates and figs, heather honey, rhubarb pie, black pepper, clove and hints of pine resin.
Palate: well-balanced, blood oranges, quince jelly, dried apricots, buttered toast, caramel, vanilla cream, cinnamon, hints of cardamom and sherried oak.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of vanilla, milk chocolate, walnuts, dried apricots and dates, pepper, nutmeg and oak.
