Product description
Ardmore Distillery, based in Aberdeenshire (Highlands), is an investment of William Teacher & Sons dating back to the late 19th century.
Its task was to produce malt whisky for the family blends. In the years 1955-1974 the plant expanded, initially increasing the number of stills to four, eventually to eight. Ardmore, as the only distillery in the region, consistently distills from malt with a concentration of phenol compounds of 12-14 ppm; the brand's annual sales currently amount to around 700,000 bottles. The whisky presented here, distilled in May 1998, was aged in a refilled hogshead cask no. DL 13826 for 21 years. Bottled in December 2019 at cask strength (48% abv) and without chill filtration by Douglas Laing & Co. in the popular Old Particular series in an edition of 271 bottles.
