Product description
Distillerie Claeyssens de Wambrechis was founded by a family of Belgian emigrants who moved from France in 1789.
First, the Claeyssens bought a water mill and adapted it for distillation purposes, which started in 1817. The distillery distilled genever (also known as French gin) and achieved a lot of success with it, the most notable being winning the "Diplome de Grand Prix" at the world fair in Brussels in 1935. In 1998, the Depasse family bought the distillery and decided to produce whisky, its debut was in 2003. In 2019, the distillery changed owners again, and is currently not distilling due to a general renovation.
