Product description
Built in 1794 by the Stevenson brothers, Oban Distillery is based in the Victorian town with which it shares its name.
The distillery belongs to the Diageo group and, equipped with a single pair of stills, produces just over 850,000 litres of alcohol per year, and its location in the city centre completely rules out even the smallest expansion. The Oban 18 years old presented here is a single cask edition released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Oban Lifeboat Station. The whisky was distilled on 29th July 1993, aged in a hogshead cask and bottled at 49.7% abv in an edition of 297 bottles. Oban Lifeboat Station was established in May 1972 and is part of the RNLI (The Royal National Lifeboat Institution) operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
