Product description
Linkwood Distillery, located near Elgin, began operation in 1821.
In 1872, William Brown, the founder's son, demolished the existing buildings and built a new distillery in their place. Linkwood was taken over by DCL in 1933 and is now owned by Diageo. Modernisation completed in 2013 increased the distillation capacity of the plant to 5.6 million litres per year, most of which is consumed by the company's blends, mainly Johnnie Walker and White Horse. The Linkwood presented here is a proposal of The Single Cask Ltd, a whisky distilled on 7 March 2008, aged in a traditional oak cask and finished in a quarter cask rum cask (no. 802524B). Bottled at cask strength (55.4% abv) on 23 August 2021 in an edition of 126 bottles.
