Product description
Springbank Distillery was established in 1828 on a site previously occupied by illegal distilling operations and remains Scotland's most unique whisky producer to this day.
It has belonged to the Mitchell family since 1837 and in the 21st century is the only distillery that carries out the entire production cycle on one property.
On the occasion of the new millennium, the company has prepared an unprecedented edition of six whiskies – 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 years old. They hit the market from September 1998 to March 2001 in the following batches: 25 and 30 years old, 2,500 bottles each; 35 years old, 1,500 bottles each; 40, 45 and 50 years old, 580 bottles each. We present here whisky distilled in the early 1960s. (Producer's tasting note.)
Springbank 35 years old – intense sherry aromas, followed by oak, dried fruit, roasted almonds, a sea haven wrapped in a salty breeze and delicate peat smoke; in the mouth a beautiful depth and harmony of flavours, sherry, almonds, dried fruit, traces of salt, peat and herbs, a slight bitterness of oak; a long and rich finish, a breath of earth, dried fruit, sherry, oak, traces of salt and peat smoke.
