Providence Haitian Blanc Haiti Rum / 56% / 0.7l
- Rum manufacturing has a long and rich tradition in Haiti.
Product description
Rum making has a rich and long history in Haiti. The Port-au-Prince distillery was established over 150 years ago, in 1862.
However, this is not where Providence rum comes from. In this case, we are talking about the fresh fruit of a recently started collaboration between La Maison du Whisky from France, Velier from Italy and the Barbancourt-Linge family from Haiti, descendants of the founders of the famous Barbancourt rum distillery. The new distillery was established in 2018, also in Port-au-Prince. The first rum flowed from the distillery's stills in 2019, and its debut took place in November of the same year. It is no wonder that so far, we have not been dealing with old rums, subjected to long-term maturation. There simply was no time to mature them. On the other hand, we have two extremely interesting editions of white rum, not subjected to ageing.
Providence Haitian Blanc is a rum made from fresh sugar cane juice and syrup, distilled in a traditional copper pot still in February 2021.
Aroma : Fresh sugar cane, pepper, strawberries.
Palate: Honey, pineapples, herbal notes, pepper.
Finish: Long and smooth, notes of cane juice, plants and pepper.
