Product description
The Bunnahabhain Distillery, based on the Isle of Islay, was founded in 1881. Since 2003, the distillery has been owned by Burn Stewart Distillers, whose assets were taken over by the South African group Distell 10 years later.
The latter, in turn, was purchased by Heineken at the end of 2021 for EUR 2.2 billion. The plant is equipped with two pairs of stills and produces 2.7 million liters of distillate per year, of which about 35% has a smoke-peat profile. Bunnahabhain Aonadh 10 years old hit the market in autumn 2021. It is a blend of whisky distilled in February 2011, aged in sherry barrels and aged in refill barrels and finished in port barrels. The whisky was bottled in cask strength (56.2% abv) in a limited edition of 14,088 bottles. The word "Aonadh" means "union" in Gaelic.
