Product description
In the opinion of most connoisseurs, Silvano Samaroli is a whisky publisher deserving of the highest respect, and even the title of visionary.
He began his whisky career in 1968 and spent the next four decades running the company. Most of the early releases were highly valued and are very rarely seen at auction. In 2008, Samaroli left the management of the company in the hands of Antonio Bleve, with whose family he had worked for many years, but he himself played an active role until his death in February 2017. The Mortlach presented here (the master’s personal selection), distilled in 1957 from barley malted on site, spent 22 years in an oak barrel, which in 1979 translated into 360 bottles of whisky at 45.7% abv (80 British Proof).
