Fettercairn Distillery sits in the namesake village in Eastern Highlands. It has been producing whisky since 1824 and is reckoned to be the second distillery to be licensed under Excise Act (the first one was Glenlivet).
The distillery was rebuilt in the late 19th Century and extended in the 1960s. Whyte & Mackay took over operations in 1973 and in turn they were acquired by brandy producer, Emperador Inc. in 2014.
