Product description
The Ballechin brand is a homage to the distillery operating in the neighborhood of Edradour Distillery and closed in 1927.
Soon after Andrew Symington acquired Edradour in 2002 he started distilling peated whisky (50ppm phenols in malt), which he launched in 2006 as Ballechin. Today Ballechin whisky is part of the Edradour core range and is supplemented with limited releases on annual basis. Here we have the 2nd batch of Ballechin 15 years old Cask Strength composed of whiskies aged in first fill bourbon barrels and second fill Oloroso sherry casks then bottled at 58.9% abv in 2021. Only 3461 bottles were produced.
Nose: peat smoke and ash, burnt caramel, vanilla, smoked ham, plums, cherries, milk chocolate, hints of cinnamon, tobacco and leather.

Finish: long, smoky and ashy, with notes of chocolate, caramel, forest berries and oak.
