The Cooper’s Choice is the range of single malt and single grain whiskies bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company (founded by Brian Crook in 1992).
The range was launched the following year and is the company homage to coopers and their important role in the Scotch whisky industry. Inchgower 11 years old, distilled February 2010, was aged in American oak barrels and finished in Marsala cask # 801364. Bottled at natural strength of 54% abv, of natural color and without chill-filtration in 2021 with an outrun of 306 bottles. Inchgower Distillery, founded 1871, is located in Speyside. The distillery is owned by Diageo and equipped with two pairs of stills can produce 3.2 million liters of spirit annually.
Nose: quite fruity, cherries, plums, raisins, orange peel, hard candy, sweet cereals, hints of clove and cinnamon and toasted oak.
Palate: fruity and pleasantly spicy, honey, salted caramel, milk chocolate, stewed plums, raisins, licorice, cinnamon, candied ginger and little oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of stewed fruits, caramel, licorice, allspice, toasted oak and a pinch of salt.
