Product description
Wildcatter is a secretive bourbon brand from the portfolio of California-based Elite Brands.
It first came to market with William “Billy” Banks, a Texas oilman known as the “King of the Wildcatters.” (A wildcatter is an oil prospector who drills for oil in uncharted territory.) Banks was also a bourbon enthusiast, and he said that if his Wildcatter failed on the market, he would drink the entire stock himself. The brand is currently in the portfolio of Elite Brands, which claims to have purchased barrels of the 8-year-old bourbon on the open market, and the broker did not provide information as to its source. At this time, we cannot say whether Wildcatter 8 Year Old is a “single-release” or a permanent release.
