Product description
The Early Times Distillery was built in 1860 by John H. Beam. The distillery closed with the introduction of Prohibition, and its stock was taken over by Brown-Forman, a company licensed to sell "medicinal whiskey."
Early Times Bourbon remained on the American market until 1983, when it was replaced by Kentucky Whiskey, distilled to the same formula – 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley, but aged in both new and refill barrels, which conflicts with the definition of bourbon. Early Times Kentucky Whiskey was the creation of the late Lincoln Henderson († 2013), a master distiller at Brown-Forman, and experienced considerable popularity at the turn of the century, selling over a million cases per year. The 2013 Hunter's Edition presented here is for hunting enthusiasts.
