Product description
Benromach Distillery, one of the smallest in Speyside, began operation in 1898.
In 1953, the plant became the property of the DCL group, which decided to close it after only 30 years. Exactly 10 years later, the Gordon & MacPhail company purchased the distillery without distilling equipment and over the course of five years renovated and re-equipped it, finally resuming distilling in October 1998. The whisky presented here, distilled in 1968 in the original distillery, is an absolute rarity; until that year, the plant malted barley itself and there is a chance that the bottle presented here contains the "original" Benromach. After 14 years of maturation, the whisky was released by the current owner of the distillery, Gordon & MacPhail, in the Connoisseurs Choice series.
