Product description
Cliff Allen is a blended Scotch whiskey from the portfolio of BBC Spirits, a Bordeaux-based company founded in 2010 by Bogdan Tanasoiu and Bertrand Fradin (BBC stands for Bogdan & Bertrand Company).
Initially, BBC's activity was limited to importing and exporting wines, after a few years distilled spirits appeared in the offer - whiskey, rum, tequila, vodka and gin. Cliff Allen (we do not know who the patron of this whiskey is) hits the market in two versions; the premium version presented here is composed of 30% malt whiskey and 70% grain whiskey, while the standard version contains half as much malt whiskey (15%). The company does not disclose details about the blend's components, we know that in the case of the premium version they were aged for no less than 4 years. The batch presented here consisted of 4 thousand bottles.
Nose: sweet cereals, vanilla, caramel, apples, peaches, lemon peel, a touch of pepper, oak notes and a hint of smoke in the background.
Taste : fruity, apples, pears, mirabelle plums, honey cereals, brown sugar, a pinch of cinnamon and pepper, oak and peat.
Finish: medium long, with notes of cereal, vanilla, caramel, pepper, country orchard fruit, oak and a fleeting trace of smoke.
