Laphroaig 15-year-old (Bottled 1980s) / 43% / 0.75l
- Laphroaig Distillery was founded in 1815 by the Johnston brothers, Alexander and Donald.
Product description
The Laphroaig distillery was built in 1815 by brothers Alexander and Donald Johnston.
Until 1954, the distillery remained the property of the founding family (Johnston/Hunter). The last of the family, Ian Hunter, doubled its production capacity and significantly increased whisky exports. Currently, Laphroaig Distillery is part of the Beam Suntory concern and, equipped with seven stills, produces approximately 3.3 million liters of distillate annually. Laphroaig 15 years old was already available in the 1980s and was considered the "tamed" sister of the 10-year-old. The bottle presented here comes from the 1980s and there is a chance that it contains whisky that remembers the legendary Bessie Williamson, who retired in 1972.
