Product description
The Glenlochy Distillery, built in the late 19th century, was based in Fort William in the western Highlands. This small operation, equipped with a single pair of stills, produced just under a million litres of distillate per year.
In 1953, Glenlochy became part of DCL and, despite modernisation work carried out by the group in the 1970s, it ceased operation in 1983, and less than 10 years later the property was sold to West Coast Inn Ltd. Glenlochy editions have always been rare, the one presented here is Gordon & MacPhail’s Connoisseurs Choice offering – a whisky distilled in 1968 and aged in oak casks for 14 years.
