The history of the AH Riise brand began in June 1838, when Albert Heinrich Riise became the sole pharmacist on the island of Saint Thomas, and thus obtained a monopoly on the production of alcohol in his pharmacy there. Thanks to colonialism, the company had access to the best exotic goods, which it could later supply to the Old Continent. Thanks to its rums, Riise has made a name for itself around the world, but apart from its flagship premium products, matured in different ways, the company also produces other, equally interesting alcohols.

The presented product aims to honor the pharmacists of old, who were often indirectly responsible for the recipes of alcohol. The bottle also refers in shape to those used in pharmacies at that time. The main ingredient already reveals the color - dark brown changing to black. On the nose, you can feel a delicate sweetness, a lot of licorice, additionally accents of hot spices and pepper. In the taste, in addition to the dominant licorice, anise appears, the whole has a salty characteristic due to the addition of salty licorice. During the very long finish, we are accompanied by notes of pepper and a salty aftertaste. A liqueur in a very bold, warming and spicy edition.
