Product description
The expansion completed in 2018 secured the Glenlivet Distillery the title of Scotland’s largest malt distillery – equipped with 14 pairs of stills, it can produce 21 million litres of distillate per year.
The brand's annual sales exceeded 16 million bottles in 2019, which guarantees it the second position on the list of the most popular single malts. The leader of the category, Glenfiddich, achieved sales of 18 million bottles (only in 2014 did Glenlivet manage to beat its eternal rival). Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve, a proposal for lovers of the tropics, joined the basic offer in 2020. Part of the whisky (the distillery does not disclose how much) used in the blend was finished in barrels of Caribbean rum.
Nose: brown sugar, golden syrup, oranges and tangerines, pears, bananas, vanilla, notes of coconut flakes and toasted oak.
Palate: mild and sweet, ripe apples and pears, candied orange peel, vanilla, rum-soaked raisins, a pinch of pepper and a light bitterness of oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of tropical fruits, vanilla, sweet cereals, a touch of pepper, ginger and oak.
