Product description
Jura Distillery is a true 21st century phenomenon. The distillery resumed distilling in 1963 after a 60-year hiatus, and the single malt Isle of Jura debuted in 1974 to little success.
At the turn of the century, Jura warehouses were stocked with a large quantity of inferior distillates, which were then transferred to fresh bourbon barrels. Within a few years, new editions appeared, and sales of the brand increased almost six-fold, currently exceeding 2 million bottles. The Jura red Wine Cask Finish presented here is part of the new “Cask Editions” series, which aims to show new faces of this island single malt. After maturing in American oak barrels, the whisky was placed in red wine barrels for 18 to 24 months.
