Although Justerini & Brooks Justerini & Brooks, a wine import and distribution company, joined the blended whisky producers in the late 1980s.
Club edition in the 19th century, it had to wait over half a century for global success. The bull's eye turned out to be J&B Rare, created with the American consumer emerging from the darkness of national prohibition in mind. This light blend perfectly suited the taste of Americans and in 1963 its sales exceeded one million cases per year. Currently, the brand belongs to Diageo and is the fifth best-selling Scotch whisky (3.4 million cases per year). The key components of J&B are Auchroisk, Knockando, Strathmill and Glen Spey, while grain distilleries supply the North British and Cameronbridge distilleries.
Nose: sweet with a hint of peat, cereals, vanilla, sugared nuts, green apples and bananas and fresh wood.
Taste: slightly alcoholic, vanilla, caramel, pepper, traces of summer fruits and nuts and a slight bitterness of oak.
Finish : not too long, grainy, with notes of vanilla, pepper, oak and a pinch of salt.
