Product description
Over the past decade, Jura Distillery has built an incredibly attractive sales offer, which translates into sales of over 2 million bottles per year. Built in 1810, the distillery had been unsuccessful for over 150 years. In 1901, the distilling equipment was removed from it and it was not until 60 years later that it was rebuilt and newly equipped that distilling resumed. Since 1993, it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay and produces over 2 million litres of distillate per year. The “Special Wood Series”, one of the company’s latest offerings, honours the influence of different types of oak on the final palette of the whisky. Here we present Jura French Oak, an edition based on whisky aged in bourbon barrels and finished in French oak barrels (Quercus robur). This long-lived variety is found mainly in central France, and finishing the distillate in similar barrels enriches it with a subtle spiciness.
