Bud Spencer The Legend “Rauchig” Single Malt Whiskey, Batch 01 / 49% / 0.7l

St. Kilian is a German whisky producer based in Rüdenau, approximately an hour's drive from Frankfurt am Main.

The distillery, equipped with a pair of Scottish copper stills, began operating in 2016; its distillation capacity is 200,000 liters of distillate per year. The patron of the whisky presented here is Bud Spencer (owned by Carlo Pedersoli, 1929-2016), an Italian actor, hero of action comedies and "spaghetti westerns", in which he constantly, and always victoriously, fights evil, and ends the day with a glass of whisky. The presented Bud Spencer Rauchig (meaning "Smoky") was distilled from malted barley imported from the Scottish Highlands with peat and aged in bourbon and Italian Amarone barrels. Our bottle was part of batch 01, which hit the market in February 2021.

Nose : camping fire smoke and ash, caramel, cherries, apricots, red apples, sugared nuts, notes of white pepper and oak.

Palate: peat smoke, breakfast cereal, caramel, apples, red berries, smoked plums, cinnamon, vanilla, white pepper and oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of peat smoke, red berries, brown sugar, vanilla, pepper and oak.
