Product description
Royal Brackla has been marketed for years as “the King’s Own Whisky”.
The distillery was founded in 1812 and granted the Royal Warrant in 1835 by King William IV. For much of the second half of the 19th Century the distillery sales agent was Andrew Usher, father of the creator of the first blended whisky, and we can presume that Royal Brackla malt was included into original formula of Usher’s Green Stripe. Since 1998 the distillery has been owned by John Dewar’s & Sons, subsidiary of Bacardi, and produces close to 4 million liters of spirit annually. The whisky presented here was distilled in May 1998 and aged in bourbon barrel # HL 15703 for 20 years then bottled at 50% abv and without chill-filtration as ‘Advanced Sample for the Old Malt Cask range’ in January 2019.
