Product description
Glen Elgin Distillery is based in Speyside and has been producing whisky since the late 19th century. The distillery is owned by Diageo, a world leader in the production of alcoholic beverages.
In 2009, the group's bosses tasked the managers of its 27 malt distilleries with selecting one barrel of whisky from their warehouse stock, a whisky that would best represent the style of a given distillery. This is how The Manager's Choice series was born, offering the group's finest whiskies. The Glen Elgin manager selected a whisky distilled in 1998 and aged in a reclaimed European oak barrel no. 3678. Its contents amounted to 534 bottles. Of course, The Manager's Choice series offers whisky in cask strength, in the case of the Glen Elgin presented here, the alcohol content was 61.1%.
