Product description
Masters of Photography is a series of six limited editions of The Macallan, published in collaboration with six of the most famous photographers of our time. The edition sponsored by Elliott Erwitt consists of 58 single cask whiskies, selected by Bob Dalgarno, Master Distiller of The Macallan, reflecting the atmosphere of 58 of the artist's works and coming from the "Great Scottish Adventure" collection. The bottle presented here is filled with whisky from cask no. 0010513, and is accompanied by photograph no. 39.
Each of the 58 releases in the series is limited to 35 sets, which include a hand-crafted hip flask bottle filled with The Macallan from a single barrel and a booklet with an album of Elliott Erwitt's photographs in which the said flask rests.
Elliott Erwitt, the son of Russian emigrants, was born in Paris in 1928. Before World War II, the family emigrated to New York, from where they soon moved to Los Angeles. Erwitt is one of the most distinguished photographers of our time, the author of world-famous photographs of Marilyn Monroe, Che Guevara and Jackie Kennedy. His collaboration with The Macallan resulted in a series of 158 photographs of outdoor locations and scenes from Scotland, which, collected in a volume, are the decoration of this edition.
