Product description
Glengoyne, the most southerly of the Highlands distilleries, began distilling in 1833 as Burnfoot Distillery.
In 1876, it became the property of Lang Brothers, who changed its name to Glenguin. It has been operating as Glengoyne since 1905. It is currently owned by Ian Macleod Distillers and produces almost a million litres of alcohol per year. The 18-year-old debuted in late 2012, replacing the hugely popular 17-year-old. The current formula for the 18-year-old includes first-fill sherry casks, European oak (35%), first-fill sherry casks, American oak (15%) and refill casks (50%). In 2020, the whisky won a double gold medal at the annual World Spirit Competition in San Francisco.
