Product description
In the 1970s, Czech apparatchiks, tired of vodka, decided that whisky had to be produced domestically. Distillation was to be based on local raw materials, but years of testing did not yield satisfactory results.
The native peat was replaced by Scottish peat, with the cost of transport exceeding the price of peat. After 1989, spirits from all over the world appeared on the market and the concept of Czech whisky collapsed, and the privatized producer had no idea how to use the warehouse stocks; however, it continued distilling. The whisky presented here commemorates the Czech "Velvet Revolution" (November 1989), which preceded the fall of communist power in Czechoslovakia. This 17-year-old single malt was finished in Oloroso sherry casks, and 1,100 bottles were released.
