Product description
Teerenpeli, family owned distillery, was established by Anssi Pyysing in 2002.
It is located in the same building as Taivaanrata Restaurant, in the city of Lahti (Finland). A brand new distillery opened in 2015 increasing distilling capacity to over 100,000 liters of spirit per annum. Teerenpeli is equipped with traditional pot stills imported from Scotland and its spirit is distilled from locally harvested barley and matured in bourbon, sherry and port casks. Teerenpeli 10 years old was launched in October 2015 and is the oldest expression in the range. The whisky is a vatting of 85% ex-bourbon and 15% ex-sherry casks (originally casks were split 80/20) and is bottled at 43% abv.
Nose: malted barley, vanilla, toffee, apples, gooseberries, peaches, roasted peanuts, toasted bread, hay barn and hints of oak.
Palate: vanilla custard, butterscotch, hard candy, green apples, licorice, white pepper, little oak and just a pinch of salt.
Finish: medium long and petty oaky, with notes of white pepper, ginger, vanilla and hints of hay.
