Product description
David Nicholson was a grocery store owner in St. Louis, Missouri who experimented with alcoholic beverages.
Its most famous formula was the wheat bourbon "1843", the production of which was engaged at the end of the century by Julian "Pappy" Van Winkle and William L. Weller. The Van Winkle family owned the brand until 2000, when it was sold to David Sherman Corporation (now Luxco). David Nicholson 1843 returned to the market after a few years, its greatest success being winning the gold medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2015. Until recently, Luxco's management made no secret that the bourbons bottled by the company came from Heaven Hill Distillery, today it admits that this is not the only source.
